By his tattoos and earrings, Mama and Papa concluded he was no good.

“He’ll get you pregnant and abandon you”

And many more were said, but, I didn’t listen.

Six years down, tattoos and earrings still worn
Blessed with two kids, I’m glad I didn’t listen.

Ai zai zama miki mijin Hajiya is a Hausa phrase used to refer to men who depend on their wives financially.
