As we feel the brunt of the isolation/lockdown brought about by COVID-19, here are a few tips which might help to keep boredom away.
1. Interact
If you are living with your family, now is the best time to spend quality time with each other. Get to know each other again, talk about every and anything that interests you people, watch a movie, pray, clean, cook etc. Whatever your preference, choose what everyone is willing to do and do it as a family.
2. Garden
You don’t need to have a very large yard to start a garden. You could use containers (you are no longer using) or even leather bags to start your own little garden of flowers, vegetables or any other herb of your choice.
3. Read
Don’t say you don’t like reading please 🙄. No matter your area of interest, there are a thousand and one books out there that you can read, especially with the advent of ebooks, you can download and read as many books as you want at a very little cost or even for free.
4. Plan
Now is the perfect time to look at your plans for the year and restrategise! Remember, you’ve already lost days or a few weeks from your plans for the year already, therefore, it is necessary that you plan with this pandemic in mind and see how best you can still reach your goals for the year once we beat this pandemic.
5. Rearrange
If you’re one for diversity when it comes to house or room arrangement, then, you should use this free time to give your house or room a new look. Move furniture around, do a thorough cleaning and generally just give the house or your room a new look.
6. Learn
We learn every day either actively or passively but, learning passively in this lockdown period isn’t cool, so take it up a notch! Search for a course online which piques your interest, register for it and start learning or if you are not down with online learning, you could learn a thing or two from your family members e.g cooking a meal or sewing 😉.
7. Put off your data
Yes, you read that right. In as much as you need to keep in touch with others and keep up with the latest news on COVID-19, putting off your data for a few hours (or a week 😉) is necessary. This is because you are more likely to engage in the above stated activities when your phone is not constantly beeping and getting you distracted.
Time to put off my data and do a few of these. 😉 Feel free to add your own tips in the comments section.
