I saw my ex-girlfriend today,
Five years after she broke my heart.
Did she still look as she used to?
No! She looks way better!
Her smile is still broad and infectious,
And her laughter? It still sounds like music.
You see, she was the woman I’d planned to ‘wife’,
But she said it’s either I was all in with her, or not
Well, a man is polygamous in nature
And so she left
Now I see her looking at him
The way she used to look at me
With their child in her belly
And I can’t help but mourn
The life that should have been mine
Is now, another’s.
